Leaving again in a few weeks

Dennis will be leaving again for Manila on Monday and later he will fly to the U.S. on his way to Europe to join his cruise ship. It will be a while before he comes back home again, between 6 - 8 months. Like many of his kababayan, he works abroad far from loved ones and family in an effort to make a decent living for himself. It is indeed a sad state of affairs when a son has to leave his family in order to earn a living. Is it so impossible to earn in his own country? Why does he have to go far and serve other people?
